Questions people ask
Is a code read the same thing?
No. A code is a symptom. A parts store reads it free; a diagnostic finds the cause so you don't replace parts on a guess.
What does the $80 credit mean?
If you book the repair with us, $80 of the $130 comes off the repair bill. The diagnosis effectively costs $50.
Can I keep driving with the light on?
Steady light, usually yes for a short time. Flashing light, no; that's a misfire that can destroy the catalytic converter.
Will it fix my NC inspection?
A check engine light fails the Mecklenburg County emissions inspection. The diagnostic tells you what has to be fixed to pass; the inspection itself is done at a licensed station.
